I Love To See The Temple

Since I was about 3 years old I have been singing "I love to see the temple". We talked about the temple, had lessons about the temple, drove by the temple, and made it a goal that someday I would be able to go to the temple. I finally made it to the temple. It was a wonderful day that I was able to share with my parents, Tyler, and sweet young womens leaders and friends from my home ward.

I can't wait to go back.

I am working a dance competition this weekend so I get to sit through a lot of dances. My favorite part is listening to their music selection... heard this one this morning. The beginning is a little slow but it gets quicker and I am obsessed!

I have looked at a lot of engagement pictures in my life, and when I say a lot, I mean A LOT. I am extremely picky in what I like and what I do not like. Not all photographers can take good pictures; it is a talent. Having a nice camera does not {I repeat- DOES NOT} make you a photographer. I literally cringe when I see bad wedding pictures. Anyways... as soon as I saw this photographer a few months ago, I knew she had to be the photographer at my wedding! Her name is Camilla Binks and she is AMAZING.

It was a blast. I have not been to the circus in forever. Our favorite acts were probably the motorcyclists in the sphere and anything that involved flying and jumping through the air in sparkly costumes. Most unimpressive act-- the tigers.

All My 11 Year Old Wishes Have Come True

My bff and I were able to see Hanson last night, and they were AMAZING. Seriously. I loved them when I was 11- who didn't love MMMbop?! I fell in love with them again when I was 16 and have loved them ever since. Their latest cd is the bomb-- Shout It Out. I highly reccomend it.

The opening act was A Rocket to the Moon. They were also amazing. Listen to this song. I knew one of their songs and recognized a few others. I am getting their cd. The opening act before that was alright until they brought up their special guest who wanted to be Eminem from 1999. Unfortunatley he is about 11 years too late.

I knew almost every song- and LOVED every single song. They sang some of their old songs too- so needless to say it was a PERFECT evening. It was a fabulous way to end a wonderful visit with my bff.

80% Of The Time

Tyler and I have excellent communication skills. Well, Tyler has excellent communication skills and I am catching up quickly! We are almost always on the same page and when we aren't we figure it out. Last night I got off of work kind of late, and he was out doing something, and we were planning on getting together after we were both home. I thought he was coming over, and through some vague texting he thought I was coming to his house. 20 minutes later I texted him, "where are you?" and he replied, "watching tv, where are you?" {I was also watching tv- in my own apartment}. I guess that is what you get for texting. Haha. This has honestly been our biggest miscommunication- I guess that is pretty good!

I have the best boyfriend ever. Seriously. He took my car to the Hyundai dealership to get it all fixed on his afternoon off.

My mom always jokes and says, "80% of the time we truly fail to communicate". She may have a point!

Ranchin' It Up

Tyler, his sister, and I went to Tabiona for Labor Day weekend. His family has some property up there so we were able to get away for the long weekend! It was gorgeous weather, and everything was so beautiful.

Who am I celebrating a 10 year anniversary with?! Elaine. My BFF.

We met 10 years ago- when we were 13 years old and in 8th grade. I can't remember if we "officially" met the 1st or 2nd day of school. After we met we were pretty much best friends. I feel so blessed to have her in my life. We were seriously made to be best friends. We have had our ups and downs- but thankfully far more ups than downs. She is my best friend. She is the "best friend" that is so comfortable- I sing in the car with her, dance in front of her, tell my stories with no points to her, can be 100% honest with her. We have had so many fun memories- and I know we are going to have more in the years to come!

Date Night.

Tyler and I see each other a lot- but we make sure to do have a "date date" at least once a week. It typically is on Thursday nights- random, but its the only really good night for us. He texted me that he had a surpise for me- do you want to know what the surpise was?

He took us to get pedicures- yes, you read that correctly. We both got pedicures. Well- he didn't get any color. I think he enjoyed it- to quote him, "This is the best my toes have looked in 29 years." (I took this picture in my office-- please note the drawers and my chubby feet!)

Then we went to get these awesome cookies-- and he got the flower cookies. I was teasing him about getting the flower cookes and he said, "Well, they have the most frosting." He's a smart cookie.

We saw Toy Story 3 in 3D. It was a great movie. It made me want to pull out my toys from my childhood. Barbie was hilarious.

Sorry that was a detailed account of my date. I hope you feel like you were right there with me.

Documentaries.

I feel that watching documentaries makes me smarter- and I love documentaries and getting smarter, {win/win}. Here is what I have been watching.

Spellbound- I pride myself with being a pretty decent speller. Could any of you spell leprechaun before I just typed it out for you? I spelled that in 1st grade- that is the basis of my spelling pride. After watching this documentary I realized my spelling is not quite up to par. The kids in this movie were cracking Tyler and I up. The parents were also hilarious. It was painful to watch the kids get a word wrong. It was produced in 2002 so most of those kids would be in college by now- I wonder what they are up to.

We kept quoting that for the rest of the night. Maybe you need to watch it to see the humor.


Every Little Step- this follows a bunch of people trying out for "A Chorus Line"- which is funny because that is what the musical basically is. I learned that "A Chorus Line" is all true stories-- very interesting. It was neat because some of the original cast members were helping to produce the show again. I saw "A Chorus line" three years ago in NYC- I wonder if it could have been any of the same cast. There were some intense parts- and one part had everyone in tears. {By everyone I mean- myself and the people doing the casting.}

Sometimes...

The aquarium was so fun-- its no Monterey Bay but considering there is no real body of water in Utah it was legit!

He was a little creepy looking when he was in Cabaret- but he is back on track again! Why am I blogging about television shows? I took my first sick day today. I really am sick- call and listen to my voice. Booooo.

It's Over!

I Survived my event. Everything went really well- of course there were some ups and downs but all in all it went amazing. Hopefully they will be back in 2012 and maybe 2011 {fingers crossed}! I could not pull of what I do without the amazing peopke I work with- seriously it takes a lot of people to make an event work!

This is what my folder looked like by the end of the event-- it looks a little worn out! It is crazy to realize how much paper work/drawings/lists/requests/"please and thank-yous"/and revisions are involved!

The Alchemist.

I read the book, The Alchemist. I LOVED it. I had not heard about it until my Aunt Cristin left it with me. There were so many quotable quotes throughout the book! I was constantly writing things down- I felt like I was in English class again!

Here were a few of my favorites:

I loved this book. It is one of the best books I have read in a very long time. I think it changed my life.

Pressure Cooker

This was one of the best documentaries I have watched in awhile. Think combination of Stand and Deliver meets Top Chef. I absolutely loved it. I felt like I knew the kids they followed- I want to check up on them, see how they are doing! By the last scene I was basically in tears. The teacher is one passionate lady- there is one in every high school.

It just makes you want to help everyone persue their dreams.

My Weekend.

I had a wonderful weekend.

I got to meet this little guy. Isn't he the cutest thing ever?! I realized that I am going to be the "old cousin" considering when he is 16 I will be 39. Crazy, huh? I can't wait to see him in his plaid shorts ensemble. He's going to be a stud.

The Jazz lost. Boo. {I have become a Jazz fan!}

I got to see both of my grandmothers on Mothers Day. It was fun to spend time with each of them. I miss my own little family on these weekends but feel so blessed to have family out here in Utah.
