Drive-In Movie: Check

My BFF Elaine and I made lists of things to do before we die one summer in HS, it was triggered by A Walk To Remember. I have continued to add to mine ever since, and check some off along the way! One of mine was to go to a Drive- In Movie theater. I do not think they have any in Maryland, so when my friend Mandie told me about the one she goes I freaked out and told her we had to go! So we did.

The screen.
Me in the truck. I also had never been in the back of a truck. I'm a city girl, okay?!

Before the movie!

I was excited!!
It is always a double feature- so we watched The Proposal and Up. We did not make it through Up, I was soo tired and knew I had to be up in a few hours. :( Next time we will go on a weekend! It was soo much fun. Seriously. I loved it. I am pretty easy to please.
When I dreamed of going to a drive in I did not imagine it in a truck, or with a girl. But it was even better in a truck, and way more fun with a girl! Yes, I did just say "way more fun".
One thing more to check off my list!!

And We Didn't Even Try

I showed up to Mandie's house and we were wearing the same outfit- only she had black pants and I had white. Must be telepathy.

I also wanted to show our matching dinners.

This was just the beginning of the evening! Yes- it gets better than matching outfits and food. We were on our way to fulfill one of my life long dreams of going to a Drive-In Movie!

Happy Fathers Day

I love my Dad.
He is one amazing man.
He has set the bar high for the next man in my life.
I hope my dad knows just how much I love him and look up to him.

These are just a few reasons I love my dad...
He is a tease
He is a good cook
He adores my mom
He is smart
He saved a voicemail I left him when I was 13
He has made it possible for me to live my life
He is a hardworker
He loves Autumn, Disney, and Christmas
He loves his 3 daughters
He honors his priesthood
He has a testimony of the gospel
If he says he is going to do something he does it
He has left meetings to talk to me
He sends me e-mails
He once sent me a funny video clip to make me feel better about my broken heart
He makes special visits to come and visit me while I lived far from home
He is a good providor
He stays up until we get home from dates or just being out
He is up late so he has answered many of my calls late at night crying or stressed out and...
Asks me how to eat an elephant
I always say, "I dont know"
He always replies,
"One bite at a time"
He taught me how to drive
He taught me geometry
He then got me a geometry tutor
He used to read outside our door before bed
He took us to the park every Sunday
He loved to take us to the Fruit Stand in CA
He makes up songs and sings them to us
He does this thing called Dancing Hands
I hope you have a wonderful Fathers Day. I love you so much. Thanks for being my dad. I know parents have a tough job and they are just trying the best that they can. You and mom are doing a great job.
Love,
Your Little Girl on the Train

"Well This Has Been Sufficiently Awkward"

Awkward has become popular. Not really being awkward so much, but the work "awkward". I think it is used much more often now than it has in the past. Maybe I just use it more. If that is the case, this entire post will be awkward. Or maybe being awkward is more socially acceptable these days. I know that I have numerous awkward moments... Here are a few I have had the past couple of weeks...

  • The homeless man flirting with me on Trax.

  • Wearing coordinating shirts with my male supervisor {we were both wearing purple tops and grey pants} someone also asked us this day if I was his daughter. {Bring you daughter to work day perhaps?}

  • Hitting the security panic button multiple times without knowing it, and having security not only call up to check on me but sent someone across the building to check in person.

  • Going through the bathroom door and having someone strike up an actual conversation- I was half in the bathroom.

  • Watching the Today Show with Kathie Lee and Hoda Kotb. Seriously, they are the most awkward television hosts. Watching the show makes me feel awkward for them and their guests.

However, if I ever feel awkward and need to be reassured that it is not so bad I just go to awkwardfamilyphotos.com . (Thanks Mom!)

All Because Two People Fell In Love

Happy 26th Anniversary!

Wow. That is a long time! I mean that in a good way! The story of how you two met is awesome (and I learned even more about it this week- mom you crack me up)! It could seriously been a plot on a sitcom. Everytime I go on a blind date (so like 4x) I think of you two. You give blind dates hope.
I am so grateful for your marriage and love for one another. You have both truly set an example of a great marriage. You have the kind of love and relationship I hope to have someday. I consider myself very blessed to have you as parents. I love you both! Happy Anniversary.

Forty and Fabulous

Mom!

It's your Birthday. We gonna party like its your Birthday. Sip Bacardi like its your Birthdy.(Okay... minus the Bacardi). Since you are a cool mom I knew you would like that little rap.
"I'm not like a regular mom... I'm a cool mom."
I was there to celebrate with you last year... I wish I could be there today too! I love you soo much. You deserve to have a FABULOUS day.
