Literally.

A "walk" down Memory Lane. I love saying that. I am not sure why. It's not as if I am stuck in the past or anything.

These shoes have been through a lot.
They were bought at the beginning of my Freshmen year of HS, to go with my hot private school uniform. They saw me through that extremely awkward first year of high school. After returining to public school and being able to wear my own clothes I continued to wear these brown shoes occasionally. They saw me through happier and not as awkward years until I graduated from HS. I took them with me to Utah, where they were worn every once in awhile. As I was packing to move to Salt Lake I took these shoes out, and decided since I had not worn them in awhile it was time to get rid of them. They got put in my give-away pile, but never made it to DI. My first week of my internship my feet were killing me. Silly me only had one pair of flat shoes. They were hot pink. You can only wear hot pink shoes so many times before someone says something. I pulled out these brown shoes. Are they the most attractive? No. But were they comfortable? Yes. Now these shoes have seen it all, everything from freshmen year of HS to first week in the real world of work!

Are you sisters?

Well obviously they only asked that about the two girls. But I have been asked if we were sisters. At church. It was funny. Yes-- I am the daughter that suddenly turned up after 22 years!

It has been fun living with these 2 (and their parents). It has been great getting to know them as teenagers and friends! We have had some good times. They introduced me to the show Harpers Island. It is soo good. I love it.

I HEART my Internship

I have an internship at Company ABC.
I have my own cubicle. I was super excited about the cubicle. I am not sure where I thought they would put me-- in the corner somewhere? IDK. I also got a Company ABC e-mail address, AND an I-PHONE. Yes. an I-PHONE!!! I was so excited. I still am excited. I always wondered what it would be like to have a fancy phone, its awesome. But really, after a day it is just a phone. I get texts, and phone calls just like everyother phone I have ever had. My harddrive on my laptop crashed (again) so I have not been able to sync it to a computer- so I do not have any awesome apps yet. Until I get a new hard drive or get a new computer (I need a job) I have it synced to my GMs... which is kind of weird. Enough about the phone.
I LOVE my internship. There is no doubt in my mind that this is the industry I want to be in. I get to help different Event Managers with some of their events. I even helped fill out some set-up sheets the other day. I get to sit in on production meetings, Post-Con meetings, Staff Meetings, etc. I also work a lot with the Director of Events. I help him with billing, organizing calendars, etc. I love working with the Director of Operations. She is so great and willing to let me tag along with her. She was out of town the other day so I got to check all of her rooms for her and even ended up helping a client. It was soo awesome. I know I sound like a nerd, but I LOVE it.
I do not have any pictures at work-- I thought it might look a little strange on my first few days there if I just busted out the camera... but I will try to get a few shots of my cubicle this week. This is what I get to see on my very short walk from TRAX to the Company ABC. It is super close to Temple Square.
I have already learned so much. I also have a new respect for The Office. Sometimes I want to go into the Board Room and talk to the camera. I worked my first event last weekend... not by myself or anything. It was great. I got home around 3am and then was too wound up to sleep.

Memorial Day

This is hot. I know. Do you want to look like this? Well-- Dollar Bins at Target can hook you up. Warning: the glitter on the hat will stick to you for the rest of the day.

I was able to meet up with one of my dearest Sorority sisters Mandie on Memorial Day. We went shopping and I was able to hang out and meet her sweet family. She is such an amazing young women. She is truly an example to me. I am so glad that we have kept in touch. It was a fun day. Love you Mandie.

Quick Visit to the Cabin

Where did I go?? I have been doing an awful job of blogging and writing in my personal journal. I do not know what my problem is! I am doing awesome and I LOVE my internship and LOVE everything else that is going on in my life. I mean- I still have mini freak-outs about my future and what not, but I limit those to once a week.
Right after I graduated my Schpoopy and I went to the Cabin for a few days to take the rest of my material life to storage, and then pack some of it up again. It was weird becaus I had nothing to do for those few days. Nothing. No homework, no nothing. I read and slept and went to the pool.
These are two pictures (I have been doing an awful job of taking pictures too) I took while at the cabin. It is soo pretty there.

I hope you are having a fabulous Mothers Day. I wish I could be there to celebrate with you. You are the best- I would not be the person I am today without you and your constant support.

Time Capsule

5 College roommates can either be awesome or awful. Luckily, mine are A-W-E-S-O-M-E. We went to dinner all together last Wednesday and took a decent roommate picture (it only took an entire semester to get one, however I am still a fan of this one)! Roommates: Who has that decent picture?? If you have it can you put it on Facebook?! We made a time capsule. Look out 2019. It was a fun night.
I think I could write a book about roommates- I have learned just as much from living with roommates for the past 3 years, than I have in a classroom. Some things I am going to miss from this year... Pasta Tuesdays, Grey's Anatomy, 4 closets to wear clothes from, eating ice-cream, and having friends 2 seconds away.

Hurray!!!

I'm telling you- I have no pictures! Its okay though- I got the most important ones. I have so many emotions going on right now. I am happy, excited, nervous, sad, and so so tired (I know that is not an emotion)! I am happy that I graduated from college!! I am excited for the future. I am nervous for the future. I am sad that my college years are over- I am sad to say "good-bye" to some of my best friends. I was doing great with not crying until I said "good-bye" to Shar. It was soo sad. I remembered why I do not like to cry- my eyes stay red for the rest of the day and sting like crazy.
Today was such a great day. I am so grateful that both of my parents were able to come and see me. Especially my mom- she is already on her way back to Maryland. Short trip- but it meant a lot to me that she came. Thank you Emily for being on your own for a few days (also thank you to everyone who helped with Em so that my mom could come)! Thank you Grandpa and Grandma Janes for coming to see me! Thank you Regan and Vanessa for watching me walk across the stage- I am sad I missed you. Congrats Lindsey and Tyler!!! Shar- thanks for making me the focus of your day! It means a lot that you all came!

After Main Commencement

It did not really hit me that I was graduating until we walked through the two lines of professors cheering for us. It was the neatest thing. I saw two of my professors and they just looked so happy for all of us! It was a really nice commencement. President Monson spoke- and he was great. I will always remember who my graduation speaker was!
My family and I thought we were being so smart to meet at the statues- it was a great idea, that 200 other people had too! Ha ha. Thank goodness for cell phones!

Graduation Prep

I have the most random pictures from today. Things got crazy busy and then half the time I did not have my camera. But these are some of the ones I have...

Kass and I lining up!!!

The line of Business Graduates

Walking past the bells

I helped do a lot of Commencement planning with my internship at the Alumni House. It has been so much fun being behind the scenes and helping and knowing all of the little details. I saw the line up of all the Dignitaries and had to take a picture of their papers!

I can't believe you are 11- you are growing up so fast!

Interesting fact: We are 11 years apart!
