How I roll...

There are a few things that you can only get away with in college... (wear flip-flops in the shower, think pop-tarts constitute a meal, grocery shopping at Wal-Mart at 1AM in pajamas) and sometimes being in college are not even excuses for these! Last weekend I did a college thing- I packed my car "creatively". I did not have boxes and really did not want to go through the effort of tracking down boxes so I just filled duffel bags, storage containers, suitcases, and laundry hamper! I really do not intend to do this ever again because I kind of felt like I was living out of my car or something!

This could be a picture from an "I Spy" book...
It worked but never again will I move like this!

Dessert DeLaCour

I am seriously not a big fan of group projects- but this one was a lot of fun and with the exception of one group member it was a great group! We were given the assignment to partner up with an already existing company (we chose Hersheys), come up with a new product (Dessert Fruit Kabobs) to introduce to the food and beverage market, and to write a proposal. The proposal included everything that would really be inlcuded in a proposal. Kind of intense!
The group- minus me
Dessert fruit kabobs- yes they already exist... but do they exist with drizzled chocolate and shredded coconut?!
They looked better in person!
Final product- packaging was definately thought of by a girl! Note the ribbon. You should of seen the boys tying the ribbon- it was cute! (also- ignore the gym clothes!)

After a 20 minute presentation my professor said...
"It is a great product- it just needs some tweaking."

I am so happy with our final result!

Who knows, maybe Dessert DeLaCour will be in a store near you someday!

My 12 year old

I ordered this awesome cake (she is a big fan of Hannah Montana- sort of a joke but mostly serious!) for my roommates Birthday this week- the bakery had to call me to ask me a question about it and they asked how old the birthday girl was turning. Instead of just laughing and saying "20" I said, "oh she is turning 12". I should have chosen a younger age- but I didn't. I went to pick up the the cake later that afternoon and the woman said, "you do not look old enough to have a 12 year old"! I was going to try and explain but instead just laughed, and said, "oh thanks!"
The moral of this story is not to lie!

Sisterhood Retreat

Each Spring Alpha Phi has a sisterhood retreat- we had ours this past weekend....

An old barn transformed into a house
How cute is that? The bedrooms were old stalls and then upstairs were more beds!
My pledge class!

We all got shirts that say "Be All You Can Be Alpha Phi"!

.26 cents short!

Have you ever gotten all ready to pay for your purchase and realized you did not have enough money? I have been a cashier before and never understood how that happened to people- well, now I understand!

This is all I needed!

I went to pay for my two half gallons of milk- one for me and one for my friend. I realized as soon as she rang me up that I did not have my debit card on me and I had one dollar bill and some random change- not enough random change though! I had to ask the girl to take one of the milks off and gave her my reason for not having the money. I should have just stopped talking because as I kept giving my explination, it seemed less and less believable! My explination had every excuse including.... I would be back in 5 minutes after my friend paid me for his milk, and how my debit card was in another purse... etc. It was embarassing- luckily there was nobody behind me!

Lesson learned: always have money on you and be willing to spot some change in the future for someone in line needing milk!
