Red Dress Gala!

Tonight was our first annua Red Dress Gala! It was our fundraiser for Womens Cardiac Awareness- a dinner, and silent auction for parents, alumni and other important members of the community. It was a huge success- over 200 people! It was a lot of fun to get all dressed up and see what everyone wore!

Here are a few pictures...

Some things I have learned throughout this week...

8,000,000 American women are currently living with heart disease - 10% of women ages 45 - 64 and 25% age 65 and over.
6,000,000 of women today have a history of heart attack Nearly 13% of women age 45 and over have had a heart attack.
435,000 American women have heart attacks each year; 83,000 are under age 65 and 9,000 are under age 45. Their average age is 70.4.

We are supposed to encourage all of the women in our lives who we care about to be healthy and happy! So... please be healthy and happy!

What a neat fund raiser. I am glad you are out there doing so much good and having fun while you are doing it, not to mention looking so cute. My Grandma died of heart problems and also had a stroke and she was only around 76years old or so. Very sad, good cause.

Love the pictures - cute red dress! I think I've seen it in eggplant somewhere?! It looks like you had fun! And what a worthy cause (plus food and fun - a great combination). It was fun to talk to you and thanks for the additional pics. With a little advance notice we will plan to attend the next one!
